Paul has lived in Wiltshire for most of his life and was brought up in the beautiful village of Winsley, just on the outskirts of Bradford-On-Avon towards Bath. His family owned the very successful village shop and post office and he was very fortunate to have been able to learn a lot of skills from a very young age.
He started his estate agency career in 2008, working for several well-established and leading corporate and independent estate agents, valuing and selling a variety of homes in Bath, Corsham, Trowbridge, Devizes, Chippenham, Bradford- On-Avon and all of the surrounding villages in between.
Paul has a strong background in graphic design and photography, this has enabled him to produce the best possible results for very happy clients over the years, with his impeccable attention to detail and unrivalled passion for property photography, you will feel in very safe hands indeed. Paul is married to Katie and together they have two gorgeous little boys, Bobby and Harry. He enjoys photography, most sports, mountain biking, going to the gym and can be found on the golf course when he has the time.
Sarah Bennett
Office Manager
Sarah grew up in the picturesque town of Bradford-on-Avon and brings to her role as Office Manager an extensive experience from roles that require management of multiple key stakeholders. With excellent communication skills and time management, transferable skills that have been developed throughout her career thus far. She is incredibly passionate about providing the highest level of customer service and has superb attention to detail. Her previous experience in lettings and property management within the City of Bath and friendly approach puts her in a great position to fit the growing team.
Sarah is recently married to Craig and has two lovely children, Oliver and Jessica. Family and friends means everything to Sarah and she can often be found on a big family walk on a Sunday afternoon after enjoying a roast dinner. Sarah enjoys skiing and summer holidays, wherever the sun is shining.

Stephen Smith
We were delighted to welcome well known estate agent Stephen Smith to our team in February 2024.
Steve is bringing almost 50 years of estate agency experience with him which is already proving to be invaluable to us here at Appleby & Townend.
Having initially retired in May 2023, Paul Appleby then tempted Steve back to work.
Steve has been in estate agency since leaving school aged 16. He has worked for both independent and corporate companies and held roles at negotiator, branch manager and area manager levels. Steve also had his own company for a number of years with 3 local branches in Melksham, Bradford-On-Avon and Trowbridge.
Outside of work, something Steve has been involved with for even longer than estate agency is his hobby. He started playing in his local Brass Band in Bratton aged 10 maintaining family connections with the band over three generations. For a relatively short time, Steve was in the band the same time as his father, 3 brothers and his uncle, a real family affair! For the last 6 years Steve has been happily playing for Shrewton Silver band.
Hopefully his time with Appleby & Townend will be for a long period of time as well.

Zander Wheeler
Architectural Services Partner for Appleby & Townend
Zander has lived in Wiltshire and the South West his whole life, where he was born and raised in the market town of Bradford-On-Avon, this town was the setting for where his passion for architecture and the built environment began.
The co-founder of Studio Zed, Zander is an architectural technician and designer with varied sector experience within the building environment. He started off his career working for one of the country's top architects as ranked by the Architect's Journal, where his knowledge towards construction technology and design was developed. He then took his knowledge and formed Studio Zed to provide architectural services within the residential sector, working on projects for domestic clients, where he finds the most satisfaction.
Zander has a background in the natural environment as well as the built, with over seven years' experience as an arboriculturist, he has a deeply seeded passion for nature where he often spends his spare time, whether wild camping in the Brecon Beacons or rambling along the Cumbria Way.'
